I cannot make you understand. I cannot make anyone understand what is happening inside me. I cannot even explain it to myself. — The Metamorphosis, Franz Kafka

The Metamorphosis is a story of Gregor Samsa, who wakes up one morning and discovers that he had turned into a giant insect. It is a symbolic tale of a young man, who is unexpectedly afflicted by a disease and how it continue to influence his and his family’s lives. The writing style is simple and language is easily comprehensible. One can speculate this differently and can have various interpretations . I don’t think many readers will like this novella, even though Kafka has written it with deeper meaning but in my opinion this is definitely not an enjoyable read.
